The University of Calcutta (CU)

The University of Calcutta (CU), Kolkata has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme in the department of Sociology, PhD in Seed Science and Technology in the department of Seed Science and Technology at A. K Choudhury School of Information Technology for the academic session 2016. The eligible and interested candidates should apply in the prescribed format.

Educational qualification:

The candidates should have acquired a Master of Science (M.Sc) degree from a recognised university or institute.

Selection procedure:

Ph.D in Seed Science & Technology programme: Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the Research Eligibility Test (RET) and interview.PhD in Sociology programme: The students who have cleared UGC /CSIR (JRF) examinations/NET/ SET/ SLET/ GATE/ Teacher Fellowship or have passed equivalent examinations or passed the M.Phil./ M.Tech/ M.D/ M.E/ M.Pharm or equivalent examination shall not be required to appear at the Ph.D. entrance test as per the new Ph.D regulations 2009.

How to apply:

The eligible candidates should submit the duly filled application along with the essential documents to 'The Coordinator, A. K Choudhury School of Information Technology' through a proper channel, so as to reach before the closing date.
